Social Events
In the playful and creative spirit of the Byrne Seminars, and to encourage the growth of ideas among and within the faculty, our Program occasionally sponsors social events that connect to a faculty member's research or hobby. Last year we had an art opening reception for computer scientist Bahman Kalantari; a visit to the Rutgers Dome to see astronomer Ted Williams' slide show on the Rutgers South African Space Telescope (followed by dinner nearby); a "working" luncheon at the Rutgers Club to share thoughts about teaching today's students; and non-working luncheons that celebrated the end of a job well done. These get-togethers are informal, fun, and unusual.
